It is believed that the full soviet/sino relations split briefly interrupted the SKS production at Jianshe in 1961. All serials observed thus far have been sub 22k indicating maybe 2-3 weeks of production compared to similar era production numbers. Please note, the first digit (in this case the 6) is simply the 1961 year designation as illustrated in the Chinese SKS dating thread. Q: When was my Chinese Type 56 SKS made? All digitsafter the 6 will indicate the actual # produced that year. W currently only have about 10 examples recorded of this year.
