This is the last year at Jianshe /26\ before halting production until once again producing in 1978/79 with the "23/34m". Very similar to the 1970 1.5m, all indications suggest a very low production year compared to similar era production year numbers. Please note, the first two digits (in this case the 16) is simply the 1971 year designation as illustrated in the Chinese SKS dating thread. Q: When was my Chinese Type 56 SKS made? All digits after the 16 will indicate the actual # produced that year.
