stamped Sheet-metal Receiver

These rifles are very interesting to say the least. They likely represent Chinese efforts to even further reduce costs and time required to build an SKS rifle. Similar to the cast-receiver rifles, these must have been fairly "experimental" based as very limited quantities have been observed. The rear sight block, gas block, and trunions are all cast metal suggesting the production of these rifles were made in very close time frame as the cast receiver rifles if not the same locations. The barrel is pinned from left/right just under the front trunion rivets which easily stand out at the stock line when the rifle is housed within the stock. In addition to the trunion rivets, the stamped steel receiver sides are also spot-welded to the trunions.

Arsenal stamps observed on these rifles are [0138], [0139], [0145], and [0158]
