Briklee Hunter

Picture
Briklee was a large importer of the Paratrooper Carbine. Evey Para they sold came with a free twist on muzzle brake. All came with a bayonet lug. Even the stock still retains the bayonet groove. They made no attempt to hide this feature. Briklee hailed out of South El Monte, California. That is what the SEM stands for in their import mark.
Picture
The version collectors look for is their Hunter package. Complete with a detachable scope and mount. The mount is the very same Type-89 mount found on the Navy Arms Cowboys Companion. The scope itself is a little different. Its a 4x20 powered scope from Redstar. The correct scope will have a red ring around the end of the barrel. This red ring is exclusive to the Briklee Hunter.

Note the safety. As part of the package Briklee installed an ambidextrous safety.
Picture
It is easy to tell a Briklee from a Navy Arms rail installation. Briklee mounts there rail one full inch from the rear of the receiver. Navy Arms rails are put right on the edge of the pin hole. The Briklee rail is installed with Phillips head screws. All of the NA Type-89 rails are riveted. Actually these rails were installed right here in the good ole US of A.
Picture
The twist on muzzle brake is a sales gimmick. The brakes look good in the pictures but leave it in the box for range day. They do not fit tight and will wobble.
Picture
A bullet striking one of these things is a real possibility. Do not shoot the rifle with one of these things on the end of the barrel.
Picture
Another reason for a twist on muzzle brake is to allow deployment of the bayonet.
Picture
$199 for the Hunter Package and $109 for a standard Paratrooper carbine

These rifles are not factory or serial number specific. Rearsenaled in China. all apply matching, mismatched, long, short, pinned barrel lug, stamped and milled FCG........
