kENGS firearms SPECIALTY'S
OR
tHE cHINESE VERSION OF THE PU SCOPE MOUNT

Picture
Kengs Firearms Specialties was the first importer to take the Chinese made version of the Russian PU sniper scope mount and put it on an SKS. The rifles they used are not factory or serial number specific and most will have mismatched parts. Although factory (974) has been seen a lot. There could be a pattern there I will need to see more of these rifles. Half of the rifles have the bayonet lug neutered and half have them have it intact. There doesn't seem to be a standard scope used on these rifles. Any short scope from China with a 1 inch tube will work. These mounts do not allow the use of stripper clips. This fine example belongs to Alaskan derelict.

Some of these rifles have the bayonet and some don't.

Kengs was one stop shopping for SKS parts and accessories.

The mounts are taller than a Russian PU mount and have a unique shape. I wonder if this mount was made in China..
Picture

Not all of the mounts say China on them. The pictured mount has a Redstar 4x20 scope on it. A very common scope of the day.

Another importer that installed these mounts is Anderson Armory Inc out of North Kansas City, MO. There is definitely no factory or serial number pattern here. Import mark on these rifles will be on the right side of the receiver. Note the mount in the background.

You will find most of these rifles come with out a mount. Good luck finding one. They have been out of production scene the early 90's. Every once and a while one will pop up on Gunbroker or Evilbay. One thing I found while collecting rifles like these. Buy the mount first cause the mountless rifles are everywhere.

The Chinese even made one of these mounts with a weaver rail on it. Sorry kids it was a small production run and they never made any more. I had to buy the rifle it was attached to to get it and it is not for sale.

Lets get a data base going on these rifles. Send me your pics and serial numbers.
